Airbourne Aviation Announces New Ownership
Popham Airfield, Hampshire – 1st September 2025 - Airbourne Aviation, England’s longest-running flight school, has officially announced the successful completion of its sale to British Young Pilots founder Patrick Tame. This pivotal transaction marks a new chapter in Airbourne Aviation’s history, with the incoming owner pledging to secure the company’s legacy and ensure its status as an aviation institution for many generations to come.
Flying For A Sustainable Future
When we think of flying, the words ‘eco-friendly’ are probably not the first that come to mind. However, here at Airbourne Aviation we are taking our first steps towards a sustainable future for flight training.
Back at the start of the year, we introduced the Pipistrel Velis Electro to our fleet – the first ever type-certified, electric-powered aircraft fully approved for pilot training in Day VFR operations.
New ownership for Airbourne Aviation
Aviator Cliff Hawkins is now comfortably at the helm, or even the cockpit, after his takeover deal of Airbourne Aviation was completed Thursday 3rd August.
